About Insel Air

Insel Air was the national airline of Curaçao, founded in 1993 and based in Willemstad, serving the Dutch Caribbean and connections to Venezuela, other parts of the Caribbean, and select US and South American cities. After years of financial difficulty — including the earlier collapse of its Aruban subsidiary in 2017 — Insel Air itself ceased all operations on February 16, 2019.

Insel Air Route Network

Insel Air no longer operates. Its former Dutch Caribbean routes are now largely served by other regional carriers, including Divi Divi Air, Winair, and Corendon Dutch Airlines.

Primary Hub

Curaçao International Airport (CUR) — historical

Insel Air’s historical hub was Curaçao International Airport (also known as Hato International Airport, CUR).

Alliance & Partner Airlines

As a defunct airline, Insel Air has no current alliance ties — it was previously part of the Pan Caribbean Alliance, a regional marketing partnership, which ended along with its operations in 2019. Travelers should search under current Dutch Caribbean carriers for its former routes.
